PTSA

Get Involved, Stay Involved

PTSA (Parents, Teachers, Students Association)

Research shows that family involvement promotes student success. Students with involved parents are more likely to:

  • Earn higher grades and pass their classes
  • Attend school regularly and have better social skills
  • Go on to postsecondary education

PTSA encourages community

When families, schools, and communities work together:

  • Student achievement improves
  • Teacher morale rises
  • Communication increases

Set a positive example for your child

Children learn from what you do, not what you say:

  • When you commit to being involved at your child’s school, you are modeling responsibility and follow through
  • You are showing how to have a voice and be heard
  • You are reaching out to others and forming positive relationships with teachers, staff, and other parents
  • You are encouraging cooperation and communication

What does the PTSA do:

  • Establishes a school community
  • Raises funds to support additional programs and projects for our kids
  • Increases school awareness
  • Shares knowledge about our school
  • Builds strength in our community

What do PTSA members do?

  • Attend monthly meetings whenever you can
  • Volunteer hours during an event to promote/raise funds
  • Ask questions and bring ideas to benefit your student and their school
